Lovecraft

Lovecraft

The name brings memories of bad b-movies, college reading parties (we were literary nerds) and so much terrible fan fiction.

BTW I did not write that bad fan fiction. But not for a lack of trying!

And now Salon.com has this: LOVECRAFT AS PHILOSOPHER.

I want to say: I want this book. Not just because it deals with Lovecraft as philosopher, but because this notion of Speculative Realism seems to brush past this idea I have been playing with for ages – the mind as an object among objects, that bodies and minds shape our relationship to reality (in the spirit of Lakoff and maybe even Bruno Latour).

Meanwhile I am hoping to put BOSTON up on Widbooks as a free download. I may even put A FAR AND DISTANT LAND up as well, a chapter a week as I write it. How would folks feel about that?
